BYO Bike to Northern SpainFerry crossingAll of our Bring Your Own Bike (BYO) tour packages include, your return ferry tickets from Plymouth to Santander, this is an overnight crossing on Brittany Ferries “Pont Aven” fast ferry. Your onboard accommodation will be a reserved en-suite cabin. The ferry cruise is part of your holiday you can enjoy a swim in the pool, have a drink in one of the bars, top up your tan on the promenade decks on your way south. Or you may want to see a film in one of the cinemas and of course you are spoiled for choice when it comes to eating, the Pont Aven offers a restaurant or cafeteria for all tastes.You will be met on arrival at Santander and guided to your hotel via a scenic route which will give you a foretaste of the roads you will be riding during your stay with us
HotelAt the three star hotel you will have accommodation in either a double, twin or single room with en-suite facilities on a B&B basis. You stay at this hotel for either 4 nights or 7 nights depending on the tour you have booked There is secured parking for your bike in a garage below the hotel which reserved for bikes. Your room will be spacious and comfortable your breakfast is buffet style NOT just a coffee and roll, our hotel has a well deserved reputation for excellence and atmosphere. At the end of each days tour you can relax in the beautiful gardens and enjoy a cool drink. ToursEach riding day you will be taken on a guided tour with a different destination. We will ride routes along the coast and into the mountains. The riding pace of the group will be dictated by the roads we are on, generally on the open road we will cruise at around 80kph (50mph) this allows you to relax and enjoy the scenery, on other roads the speed will be lower but no less enjoyable. Our tours are guided not escorted, there is no need for you to follow a map or read a route card, we don’t meet you at a pre-arranged place on the route, we are with you all the way.Eating outWe return to the hotel in time for you to freshen up before you explore the restaurant and bars in Llanes for your evening meal and entertainment. At the end of your tour you will be our guests at an end of tour meal in one of our finest local restaurants, you can relax enjoy the food and wine because we have arranged taxis to take you to and from the restaurant.
Tour lengthOur tours are either 7days or 10 days end to end, this is from the time you leave Plymouth till time you arrive back in Plymouth and includes 1 night on the ferry each way. If you want a longer tour, we can for example arrange for you to return from a French port with Brittany Ferries so you can enjoy both Spain and France in one tour. Why combine a guided tour of the Picos de Europa with a visit to the Dordogne, Cognac or Brittany on your way through France. Or you may wish to take a guided tour in the Picos de Europa and then venture further south or west to Portugal but return via Santander.
