Primavera means Spring in Spanish and this tour will let you see Asturias at it's early best. The meadows are carpeted with spring flowers, the high peaks are still wearing their winter mantles of snow and the rivers rush seawards with their burden of melt water from the mountains. Your holiday starts when you board Brittany Ferries "Pont Aven" for your overnight cruise to Santander, on arrival we will be there to greet you and guide you to your hotel where you will have secured parking for your bike at no extra cost. Your stay will be on a B&B basis this gives you the freedom to explore some of the many restaurants where you can enjoy the local food. Every riding day you will be taken on guided tours each one will have a different destination, the pace will be moderate which gives you the chance to see and enjoy the scenery, rather than just glimpsing it at high speed on the way to somewhere else. There will be ample stops for refreshment and photo opportunities along the way. On the last night of the tour, you will be our guests for an end of tour meal at one of the best local restaurants. Dont worry about having that extra glass of wine, taxis will be laid on to take you to and from your hotel. When considering prices please remember that all our tours include your overnight cruise and onboard accommodation. Desafio Asturias Tour 1 Starts: Sun 12th July Plymouth - Ends: Thurs 23rd July Plymouth TOUR BOOKING NOW CLOSED "Desafio" means Challenge and these tours are designed to provided a challenge. They are ideal for previous Bike-Astur tour members or riders with a sense of adventure,on these tours we will venture further afield to explore the less well known heart of Asturias. To put things into perspective, Asturias is bigger than Wales so there are more than enough interesting roads to provide you with a challenge.Because of the distances we will spend 2-3 nights away from our base hotel in Llanes (don't worry we will return to Aunties later) As always the roads will be superb and the scenery outstanding. We will of course ride at a pace for you to see and appreciate it. Which means hyper sports bikes are not ideal...unless you are comfortable at 50mph or less; the roads preclude higher speeds for the greater part. On our return to Llanes you have the choice of a ride free day or a local ride-out, the following day we will ride our way up the sides of a glacial valley to reach a mountain pass from where we will explore a landscape that shows the effects of the immense forces of nature. Our tours for 2009 are priced in Euros but you can still pay with a Sterling cheque, just use the currency converter to find the Sterling equivalent Both of this tour will have a booking cut-off date in order that we can secure hotel spaces.
