Put yourself in the picture! Advantages:For anyone who does not enjoy flying, the luxurious Pont Aven high speed ferry cruises to Spain overnight. You will have a cabin with en-suite facitities, plenty of places to eat, a choice of bars and entertainment or you can sit on deck and enjoy the sun on your way south.When making a comparison with a budget flight, remember that with a ferry cruise, your time onboard is part of your holiday, not the unavoidable hassle that has become the lot of airline passengers. The amenities onboard the Pont Aven cannot be matched by any airline, you have duty free shopping a swimming pool, cinemas, restaurants and cafeterias that serve up delicious food for every taste. You can stroll on the promenade decks there is plenty of space and freedom of movement. You will arrive in Santander refreshed and ready for the next part of your holiday. For 2009 Brittany Ferries will provide two sailings per week, one from Plymouth and NEW for 2009 one from Portsmouth too!! This will make it more convenient for those living in the south the east and the midlands too, in order to take advantage of this new service we have adjusted the length of some of our tours to coincide with the new ferry timings.Most of the modified tours are longer......so more time in Spain
Other activitiesRemember, by bringing your car you can share your holiday with a non riding partner, we have a range of options for off bike activities, including pony trekking, golf,fly fishing, yoga courses,painting classes, photography courses, walking, cycling,canoeing and so much more. Let us know your requirements and we will make the arrangements with the activity provider.Eco TourismUsing the ferry is more environmentally friendly than taking a short flight and when you combine it with riding our Royal Enfields which sip petrol at the rate of 100 plus miles per gallon, this is eco touring at its best. Not only that, our Royal Enfields are made from basic materials so their whole of life eco footprint is tiny compared with a modern plastic clad bike.Other advantages:
Our Cruise & Ride tours are designed to be a more relaxing option, there will be free days for you to do as you please, while still having the convenience of staying at our selected hotel here in Llanes.Usually there will be a free day before and after the tour, but this will vary depending on the ferry schedule. You may wish to visit Oviedo the capital of the Principality, a very elegant and relaxing city, you can enjoy the sculptures in almost every street and San Francisco park is a great place to sit and watch the world go by while enjoying a home made ice-cream from the kiosko. Oviedo is rightly famous for the quality of its Cafés and pastelerias. Need a little retail therapy? Parque Principado is on the approach to the city from Llanes, just off the Autovia. Don't forget your car allows you to take home as much bargain priced wines etc. as you can fit in the boot, this is not feasible when flying! On tour days, you will be taken on a different tour each day, these will include both coastal and mountain routes, plus places of interest along the way. The riding pace of the group will be relaxed, on main roads we will keep up to the minimum speed limit i.e. 50 mph on other roads the pace will be dictated by the road itself and of course the scenery, we want you to see it not have it pass by as a blur.
What is includedThese prices include return ferry tickets for a car with driver and passenger, two berth en-suite cabin, 3* hotel on a B&B basis, the use of the motorcycle, insurance and guided tours on each riding day, plus an end of tour meal at one of our finest local restaurants, for which we arrange taxis to and from the restaurant so that you can relax and enjoy the food and wine without the need for one person to be designated driver.We can supply helmets, jackets and gloves,for a small additional charge. Our helmets are new and are open face type with a drop down visor. We do not supply footwear and we always recommend stout boots or shoes. What is not includedSnacks and drinks while out on tour.Personal insurance, you are required to have travel insurance that allows you to ride a motorcycle of 500cc and covers you for medical expenses and repatriation if necessary. The motorcycle element comes under the same terms and conditions as our Fly-Ride tours. Something different?We can custom design a tour for your needs, If you want a longer tour, to include a return via France we can accommodate you, we arrange for a ticket that includes your requested departure port in France with Brittany Ferries and if your return is on a daytime sailing there are savings because you will not require an overnight cabin.Why not combine 4 days riding in the Picos de Europa with Bike-Astur and a visit to the Dordogne, Cognac or Brittany on your way back through France.
